On January 15th, 2001, Wikipedia was launched.
On March 23rd, 2001, VMware released the first version of their server platform ESXi (at that time it was ESX).
On August 24th, 2001, Windows XP was released.
On January 4th, 2001, version 2.4 was released for Linux.
